Two Days Lost

I've lost two days of much needed knitting time. I worked Saturday, and the other lady working and I rearranged a bunch of stuff in the yarn department. Came home, had supper, then supper didn't seem to sit so well. I had felt fine all day, then it all hit like a bolt of lightning. I don't ever remember having the flu so severely in my life. I still feel a little wooey today, but at least I can eat a bit, and the vomitting (and other things) have stopped. The Littlest One started in about midnight Saturday, and by late last evening he seemed to be back to his old self. Then this morning about 1am poor hubby started, so needless to say he didn't get to work today. I think it all start with the Oldest One last week, but he didn't seem to get it as bad as the rest of us. Maybe some of his flu shot from last year is lingering.

So now I'm behind on my knitting. I had hoped to have four or five pairs of mittens finished instead of two. It started raining today, but now it's snowing. I took this picture about an hour ago. Now everything is covered. It shouldn't last long on the ground because the ground is not frozen. This is our first snowfall of the season.

Over the weekend our sewer alarm went off. Our house and the house beside us were never originally hooked up to the town sewer way back when for some reason. A couple of years ago the Region hooked us each up with a holding tank that pumps the sewer up to the main line when the holding tank gets full. Sunday morning 6am, off goes the alarm. It was an unusual thing, because no one was up and flushed a toilet or did anything to make the pump turn on. They were here today and sucked it out, checked the pump, said there really wasn't anything to make it plug, yadda yadda. While they were here I had to put my truck on the side of the road so they could get the suction truck in to pump it out. After that truck left they put their Region F250 in my driveway, and one of the neighbors across the street backed into it! The roads were just getting slushy, so I don't know if she backed out too fast or what, but he said she came right into our driveway and hit the truck. I'm glad I wasn't parked there! (Tho I usually park back farther than they were.) And since they left the alarm has wailed three or four more times. I silence it, then it turns itself off, then it wails again. I did a load of laundry to see if it's a low level alarm. (Obviously not, cuz the dang this just started wailing again, and I called them about it.)

Of course when the suction truck arrived the courier also arrived with my Chrisco Hampers.

I got a Quick Meals hamper and a Turkey Hamper. There were only a few things we won't eat, so I gave some stuff to my MIL. There's candy, frozen goodies, canned goods, Christmas crackers (with the paper hats, never had those before), hot dogs, sausages, bacon, 10kg turkey, side dishes, ice cream, pies, coffee, tea, and much more.

Off to get back to the lost knitting. Be sure to check this out. My, oh, my!

Happy knitting!

PS Co-worker called from Toys R Us Friday night and seemed to find everything I had on my list. Guess I probably owe him a batch of cookies.

Being sick is NO FUN! Especially when you're sick enough that you can't even knit....I'm glad you're feeling better!
I know what you mean about getting behind on knitting though and I'm not even sick. I've had visitors and bothersome excursions that have limited my knitting time to almost nothing for the past 2 days - BLAH....(but I guess it's better than being sick!! )

Stomach bugs are horrid. It is really bad when you can't even knit!! Hope you catch up soon.
Glad your truck wasn't backed into. There seems to be a lot snow out there now. We were going to go to Bridgewater to see The Queen tonight, but decided better safe than sorry. So I can stay home and knit.

My friend's mom got a couple of those Chrisco hampers last year and said that it is well worth the money...lots of great things in it.

Hope you're all feeling better soon!

I'm behind on my knitting too, but it's due to papers, assignments, and essays coming due and exams next week. Will be glad when that is over with!
