Happy December 1st

Happy December 1st! Christmas less than a month away, I still have a ton of knit gifts to make. It's pouring out right now and quite warm, but the forecast for Monday is ---gasp!--- snow!!! This is a blah post sans pictures (which I hate doing). I have two pairs of the felted mittens finished (not felted yet, will do like colors together to save energy), and I have recalculated that I need at least eight pairs, not seven. I am hoping to have one more mitten finished tonight.

So, as usual when I have nothing interesting to share of my own, I'm gonna distract you to other nifty things by fellow knit people:

Nova Knitter finished her colorwork sweater. Beautiful! Wish I was better at colorwork. I have trouble adding simple stripes to those dang felted mittens!

Speaking of colorwork, check out Pat's gorgeous mittens! Someday I vow to try something like this! Also Sockbug has a link on her side bar not only to some wonderful sock patterns but also Latvian mittens charts. Inspiration here.

Aija finished Sherwood for here cutie patootie munchkin. She's asking for advice on the neckline. I'd like to make these for my boys sometime.

Did everyone read the Yarn Harlot's post from the other day about her new neighbor or possible new neighbor? Too funny! The joys of living in a big city, I guess.

Must get going. I've sent one of my co-workers to Toys R Us in the MicMac Mall to get me some things that are on sale til tonight. That would be good for a laugh -- he has no kids nor ever plans on (he's 40 or 41). I had to write it down clearly cuz he has no idea what he's looking for!

Happy knitting!

Oh dear...are you sure it was a wise thing to send your neighbour to the toy store? LOL...I'm sure he'll do fine. Can always ask an employee if he's not sure.

Can't wait to see your felted mittens!

Did you send the guy who was shoeless the evening I stopped at the store? He looked about that age. Poor guy, the toy store in December - not where I'd want to go.
Yeah, me, who has no shopping done for my kids yet!
Trying to get a shopping trip to Liverpool together for next Friday night.
