Panicky
I'm getting all panicky now that I'm not going to get my stuff I need knit for Christmas gifts finished in time. I'm still plunking away at the mittens, and every day I seem to add another pair to the list. I started off thinking I needed seven pairs of ladies' felted mittens. Now I need eight and a man's pair. Plus hubby ordered a pair, and I decided Tuesday that I need a pair. (It was cold, the Littlest One wanted me to take him for a walk in the stroller, all I had was a pair of those tiny stretch dollar store gloves.) Last year I ran out of time. I made one sock for my dad and wrapped it up with an IOU for the other one. He had it two days later.
Yesterday was too busy. Hardly any knitting done. I had to work, then we had to rush to Bridgewater for an appointment. Then we had to rush back because the Oldest One had his school Christmas concert at 6pm. Then I had to go to the grocery store because hubby left for Edmonton this morning. Had to get him stuff to take. By the time all of that got finished, and I made myself sit and do my overdue postings in the business books, there wasn't much knitting time before bed. Here's a not-so-good picture from the concert. He's on the bottom row, wearing a red shirt, standing beside the girl in the red dress. (Hall was too hot, too many people, hard to move around all the other parents trying to get pictures. Mine all came out sucky. This is probably the best one.)
Most of our snow is gone. There's only little piles left from the snow plows. Today it's +10C and raining. This is what it looked like Monday just before dark. It stopped snowing shortly after that.
Could be worse -- check this out. Also go here -- I love this. It may be a project for next summer for the fall.
Back to the Monotonous Mittens! Pictures once I get some of them felted.

Ah, yes, the old knitter with no mittens syndrome...
There's always such a rush of last minute knitting, I can think of a few more things I would love to whip up. :0)
Good luck getting the mittens done. I've got socks that need to get done.
What pattern are you using for the mittens? Was asked today if I would consider knitting mittens for a shop here; was thinking thrummed, but felted would be nice too.
Stop and take a few deep breaths. You will either get the darn mittens done or not. The world will not end if you don't get them finished before Christmas.

I'm in the same boat...no mittens of my own. Was saying to a Friend on Tuesday night when we were coming out of school after class and it was freezing out...said that I make mittens for kids but I don't have any of my own for myself. Those will be on the list, but I'm not in any rush just yet. They can wait til after Christmas.
We still have our snow, though lots has melted. It was very mild as well here and we got a bit of rain too, though not much.
I hear you about the XMas-knitting-hectic - like you, I still have such a lot of things to make, and so little time... But for me I know what it is - a severe case of not having any organization talent whatsoever ;(
I can't believe what a lot of snow you have - would you send a bit over to Austria, pretty pleeze? ;)
I'm a knitter with no socks. I keep promising myself some but then someone else wants some, and yada yada yada. Your snow was very pretty for at least a short while. I'm definitely not looking forward to school programs because of the crowd element. I hope your son had fun on stage though!
Wow, that is a serious amount of mittens! I'm hoping to get two pairs done:-) Good luck, you'll make it!

Awww...Christmas pageant time. My son is not in one this year, so we have escaped the overcrowded too hot hall. Phew. We will have a full house for the holiday though, which will be nice. Ok, back to the mittens...I have yet to knit some. Really, they intimidate me.
