Six Weird Things

I got tagged awhile back by Shelley, so now I am finally getting around to posting my Six Weird Things. I had a hard time thinking of them, and I wouldn't ask for help as I didn't want to end up with a list of sixty things instead of just six. In no particular order:

1. I bowl with the wrong foot. I never knew this til one time I bowled in a Scotch Doubles tournament with one of my co-workers (who also happens to be the best bowler in town, it's true). I bowl with my right hand, and I lead with my right foot, done it since I was a kid. I never noticed before til he pointed it out, and since then I've only ever seen one other person bowl that way, too. You're suppose to lead with the opposite foot of the hand you use to throw the ball.

2. I will not sit on the driver's side of any vehicle unless I am the driver. I don't know why, but I won't. I've made people rearrange their places in a vehicle to accommodate me. Even on busses, not behind the driver.

3. I have never been on a plane. Never had a passport. I've only been to the US once, and that was just inside the border for like two hours. This was a year-and-a-half ago when we went to New Brunswick to get a new big rig after ours was written off in an accident. We were staying only 20 minutes from the border, so we went over for supper and a bit of shopping. I would love to travel, though, and plan on all of us getting passports this year. We may not go anywhere major this year, but we'll be passported.

4. I see forerunners. I'm sure most will scoff, but I've freaked many a person out. I've told different people when I've seen something, and usually within a few weeks someone passes. (There was one in particular that bothered me so bad I had to tell the gang I work with. I thought it was my mother. It wasn't, thank goodness, but a couple of weeks later a lady died after running her vehicle into our big truck. She resembled my mother very much so according to hubby. Everyone at work was like, "That's the lady you've been seeing!" so I knew she would pass, and she did about five hours after the accident.) I'm never wrong, and it really isn't nice cuz it means someone I know will die. Next.

5. I don't really watch any current or new shows on television. The only new shows I watch are Supernatural, which started last season. Most of the shows I like are British -- Coronation Street, Most Haunted, Doctor Who (the new ones), old episodes of Are You Being Served?, Keeping Up Appearances, Mr. Bean, The Thin Blue Line, Fawlty Towers, Last of the Summer Wine, etc. I watch Seinfeld all the time, but I never watched it til it aired as reruns. I think I mostly don't watch new stuff cuz every time I start watching a new show it disappears. (Smith and The Nine this season.)

6. Seems to me I thought of the sixth one, but now I can't remember. How about this one -- I totally despise the song, "Strawberry Wine". Like, extremely much so that if the video comes on TV I could put my foot through it. I don't know if it's because it was overplayed when it first came out or what, but that's the only song I can think of that can make me violent. She's got some other stuff that I don't mind, but that song.... New Years Eve hubby had the video channel on, and this came on. I had to close the kitchen door and put a song on the computer to drown it out so I wouldn't have to buy a new TV. Then we go to the dance, and what is the very next song they play when we get there? You guessed it. Good thing I didn't overindulge.

There ya go. I will tag anyone who wants to list Six Weird Things about themselves.

Hopefully there will be a FO or two next post. Dad's slippers are finished and awaiting felting.

Pop on over here to see Aija's new Etsy store. I ordered some stitch markers already.

Also Dipsy posted a great sock pattern on her blog. I printed it off already. Maybe some of that Christmas sock yarn I got will become a pair soon!

Happy knitting!

That #4 is scary! I'm not so sure I'd want to have that extrasensory gift!

Thanks for playing the meme! Thanks also for the link to the sock pattern - it looks great, and I've printed off the pattern and will have to make those at some point!

You are not too weird. I think the weirdest thing on your list is the one about not traveling. I haven't traveled a great deal but I'm always surprised when someone says they haven't flown or traveled very far. Get those passports and book a flight! BTW, my mother has the extrasensory thingy going on... it both fascinates and scares me!

This is a fun meme - I always think it's the little quirks that make us who we are. :0)

I so enjoyed reading through your "6 weird things" - thanks for sharing! Hmh - yesss, I'd say it's about time getting a passport now ;) - and get travelling if you'll get the chance! I agree with Pat, #4 sounds pretty scary - I wouldn't want to be gifted with it, but then again, one can't choose, no?
