Happy New Year!
Happy New Year everyone! I hope none of you celebrated too much and are suffering today. I behaved nicely and feel no ill effects today. (Hubby has a headache that he is blaming on his cough. I think some of it could be because of the mish mash of drinks he had last night. Two or three kinds of beer, rum, one of my drinks which involved milk, plus some kind of green apple flavored shooter.)
I finished Dad's birthday hat on his birthday (December 30), but I forgot to get a picture of it before he took it. Here's a shot of the boys decorating his cake.
This is one of my Christmas gifts. It's a stained glass tealight candleholder. Hubby thought the candle should have been in the top where the real light would be, but I'm sure that was probably a safety issue. It's cute, and it looks nice when it's lit up in the dark.
How do you spell sucker? Actually, just look it up in the dictionary, and you'll probably see me. I finally caved and let the boys get a toy they've been after for a couple of years. It's a 1998 Big Bear 4x4, complete with plow and winch. There's a passenger seat for on the back, but the owner of the shop where we got this took it off to use on his own ATV. They are bussing it to us tomorrow. We did a 6 months no interest no payment thing, so I will have it paid off before then. We didn't need a new one, that's for sure. In the spring the boys want their own. I will not be getting real ones, just the battery operated ones. These things are too dangerous to let kids drive. New laws are out or are coming out anyways that require operators to be 16+ and take courses and stuff. There's no plate or insurance on this yet, so they were confined to the yard. We haven't had any amount of snow yet. Hopefully hubby will be home for the first major snowfall so he can "play". I teased that I'm selling the snowblower. (I won't, I'll use that if he isn't home, plus it's better for walkways and paths to the oil tank.) There's no snow in our forecast yet. It's supposed to rain today and be like +6Celsius or so all week. (I don't want to hear any complaining when I buy yarn!)
Three who shall remain nameless got ahold of my camera the other day. I had some -- "artistic"? -- we'll say, pictures on it, including this one.
Lastly, the winner of the Lite Brite refill kit is Trek! Congratulations! It will be mailed this week, as soon as you send me your mailing address. (Names on folded paper drawn from a hat.)
Well, must go do a bit of housework before heading to my parents' place. Dad has to go back to Halifax today, so they are having ham dinner early.
Happy knitting!

Now, they definitely seem like they're having a big lot of fun - totally love these pics!
Happy New Year to all of you!
I think you should have a lot of yarn credits built up now. ATV vs yarn!.....lots and lots of yarn!
Wow! That is a lot of yarn they are sitting on!!!! It does look like great fun though! The pictures of the boys are too cute...decorating the cake and the upside down heads. Tee-hee. :)
An ATV, what fun! But definately time to talk yarn. Your boys are adorable, and the did such a great job decorating the cake. And the lighthouse is cute. Hope your New Year was good. Talk to you soon!
I am wondering if you may have a ball of the Shetland Ragg Chunky colour I need to finish my husband's sweater. It is now discontinued, & I am frantic to find one - it is similar to the yarn you used to knit your hubby's socks - mine is called WAVE and is a denim blue / charcoal twist. Colour # 715
