Idea
So I got an idea last night. I saw that one of my Ravelry friends faved this the other day. I am in desparate need of new felted clogs, the ones I have now have huge holes. So I remembered that at the camper I had an old pair of sandals, but I couldn't remember if I brought them home or threw them out. I went down to the rec room last night to see if they were amongst the camper things when I spied a pair of flip flops in a bag of camper stuff down there. I had bought a five pack or something like that of flip flops one time from a friend who sold Avon. I don't like the thing between my toes, so I don't wear them. (And I think the dogs chewed on one pair.) Anyhoo... thus the idea that I could use the flip flops for soles of the new clogs! Just cut of that irritating toe-thong thing. (And I still don't know about the sandals, I never made it that far.) So I think in the next few days I'll try to crank out a pair of slippers for myself and try my experiment. These slippers only last me 2-3 months before getting holes in the bottom, so I have to try something.
In the meantime I finished up another pair of socks for Hubs. I love the Thuja pattern, it is so fast to knit and easy to remember. This pair was started on February 5 and finished the 7th, I used Briggs & Little Tuffy in greystone and oatmeal for the heels, toes, and cuff, and 4.5mm bamboo needles. Ravelry details here.
This is what it's like around here when you're trying to eat. Two vultures pretty much try and stick their faces into whatever you have 95% of the time. This is Jewel trying to check out the Littlest One's Reese's Puffs.
And the girls aren't happy that Daddy went back to work. Maggie has to go in her kennel a lot more often, and poor Jewel just looks sad. He's been gone since Sunday, so they aren't as bad now. But I've worked the past two days, so when I come home they're all over me and won't leave me alone! Wait til he comes home -- they'll be so excited they won't know what to do!
Happy knitting!

My breakfast is like that.. but with cats that sit in your lap and try to pull the bowl out of your hands!
Great socks, and can't wait to see how the flipflop/clogs turn out
Great socks! I like this pattern too. Awe, the pups are daddy's girls! :o) So cute! Great idea for unused flip flops! I hope it works out!
The Thujas look great , bet DH loves them. I have some Tuffy in the stash , might just try to knit up some socks for Mike with it . I see that you used only one skein for yours . Mike wears a size 10 shoe , hope one 's enough...
Good luck with the flip flop experiment !
We have the same problem with Lady when her daddy goes hunting in the fall. Stuck to me like glue!!!
Can't wait to see the clog/slippers.
Really interested in how your slipper sole issue works out. I checked at a shoe repair shop in the city for something that might work, but the guy was busy and I didn't want to wait!
