Interlude

I am still working on what I call the socks from Hell. Oh, the torment of having a big-footed, diabetic husband who wants knit socks! I think I have twenty more rows and the toe on the second sock, then they are SO DONE!! Hopefully tonight, but I've got bookkeeping to catch up on as well.

Nephew fixed up my bike a week or so ago. I bought it when I still lived at home, so about 16 years ago. Ever since I got it the back tire had a slow leak. He thought it best to change the tubes in both tires. The boys and I have been walking or biking most evenings after supper. I'm sore from biking, but I like it, it's fun. On Saturday we ventured on a bigger trip, one I hadn't done in probably over 20 years, not since I was a teenager. We drove up around to the first bridge in Milton.

Looking up river.

It's a one-lane bridge, there is another one a ways further up the river, too.

There's a little park by the bridge, so I packed up some peanut butter sandwiches and bananas, so we stopped for a break and some pictures. I don't know if I could have made it the whole way without a break, lol!
The two churches.

There were no ducks at the park, and I had brought some bread heels for them. So on the way back we stopped at another walking park that has a duck pond. There were only two ducks there when we arrived, but in no time there were about 14 of them! But they were too late for food.
It's a high-traffic park, and they get fed a lot, so the are quite tame. We stayed for about 20 minutes, then I told the boys if I didn't get moving I'd never make it home!
Hopefully next post will have some finished socks.
Happy knitting!

I've been thinking about getting a bike. It's been such a lovely summer, it'd be a nice way to get out and about. Sounds like you're having fun :)

I have a bike and I really need to get out on it more - maybe I'll go for a ride when I get home from work!
I know what you mean about socks - I keep looking at Dave's but Im just to the heel and I keep thinking about how long that darn foot is!
