The New Truck

I tried a new hat pattern after seeing the one that Nova Knitter made. I usually make Marsan Watchcaps (and to be honest they are still my preference). This one isn't too bad, though, and will be a nice change when I've made too many of the other ones. These three were all made with Kertzer Northern Accent in smokey grey, infinity, and aran fleck. The first one is for the Oldest One's homeroom teacher for Christmas (first time one of the boys has had a man for homeroom teacher), the blue one is for step-FIL for Christmas, and the other one is for our hat drawer at home. Ravelry details here. (And I did them a little differently. Changes on my Ravelry project page.)

So last Monday we officially got the New Girl, and she went to work. Here's old Petie being dropped off at the garage, dirt lump that she was, on trade in.

And there's the new one. This is the 5th truck that we've actually owned ourselves, and the first one that is brand new. (Hubs drove for about four years for other people before we got our own rig.)

These pictures were actually taken on Friday night when we dropped Petie off and picked Hubs up to bring him home.

I took some pictures of the inside before she gets all dirty, lol. Storage compartments in the bunk area. These are on both sides.

The fridge. Straps on the top for the microwave, the brown part hauls out to make a little table. There's a cabinet that is about the same size for clothes, etc, across from this one on the other side. The tv is strapped down on top of that one.

Hubs checking out the cb that was included. That was a bonus, thought we'd have to buy one.

He's very pleased with the bed, it's bigger than the ones were in his other trucks. This one just has a single bunk, so no room for company.

It's Thanksgiving weekend here in Canada. Going to do my turkey today. It's absolutely gorgeous out, we've had a burst of summer weather again after Thursday and Friday were quite chilly, especially Thursday - there were even flurries! Not liking that already. But today is shorts and t-shirt weather, so I'm sure everyone will get sick. Think I'll get one last lawn mowing in this afternoon.

Happy knitting!

Congratulations on the new truck! The hats look good when worn. We have summer weather here, too hot. Had to turn on the A/C again, my son's melting in his room. Too bad the pool is already closed.
