Cuba 2015 Part One

So for the first time ever we finally went on a vacation.  No kids this time, but I promised them next time the vacation would include them.  It was the first time I'd gone anywhere for more than like one night without the boys, and it was the first time I'd ever been on a plane.  Hubs says it only took 15 years to get a honeymoon, lol.  We went down as a group, two left on Good Friday, six of us the next day.  Our flight was delayed for over three hours because of fog, the planes couldn't land.  They ended up being rerouted to Quebec City for refueling, so that meant we didn't land in Cuba until 2am Sunday, and it was almost 3:30am before we got to our resort.  (We should have arrived at the resort Saturday around 11pm.)  I had texted the couple that arrived before us to tell them we were delayed, but they didn't get it, don't think they checked their phone, but they were still up and waiting for us in the lobby when we arrived like they said they would be.

I took over 1100 pictures, lol, got them all on Facebook, but I'll just pick and choose a few for on here over a few posts.  I love taking pictures, and I tend to get carried away.  We stayed at Blau Costa Verde on the Plus side of the resort, located in Holguin. Very nice.  Very hot, windy all the time, but that's good or everyone would die.  It didn't rain during the day, only a passing sprinkle once in awhile that felt really good.  Wednesday night it rained so hard that it woke me up, I thought someone was in my shower, that's what it sounded like.

The main pool off the lobby.  We sat where this picture was taken from every day.  As guests of the Plus side there was another pool for Plus only, but it had absolutely no shade, we preferred the main pool.  Also, two of our party were not on the Plus side, so they weren't supposed to use the other pool.   We had no choice but to book the Plus side, that's all that was left when we booked.  They were full to capacity the entire time we were there.

Aquabar at the main pool.  Leo, the world's best bartender, works here.

I had to take lots of old car pictures for Dad.  Most of the old cars are taxis.

Blau has a private beach.  Really awesome snorkeling, which I did four times.

More pictures next post!

Happy knitting!

AMAZING! Love the photos! And good for you that you guys got away without the kids. As someone who is also still waiting for that kind of honeymoon I applaud you!
