Blowout

The Oldest One informed me when I went to pick him up at Nanny's yesterday suppertime that he had a blowout.

He loves his hand knit socks. I told him I'd fix it, I still had a little ball of leftovers. I figured the best repair was to reknit the toe, so that's what I did. I think the hole may have been my fault. I was the hand knits socks separately from the other laundry in cold water, delicate cycle. When they are dry I go over them with my defuzzer that I got for Christmas (if they need it). I'm thinking that maybe the defuzzer snagged the yarn, and I didn't notice, so a hole formed. I don't know what else would have happened to them, so I'll make sure I'm more careful in the future when defuzzing.

Happy knitting!

I found a hole in one of my socks the other day - I think it got snagged on a nail on my mom's deck.

You did a fantastic job of repairing it. Most people would have thrown them away and gone without. You are a "true" knitter.
