Road Trip Part Two
Here's part two of the road trip. I'm doing Manitoba and Saskatchewan in this post. Both places are very flat. I found Saskatchewan a little more hilly. (This was taken in Manitoba.) *There IS knitting content at the end of the post! Scroll past if you don't wanna see the trip pics.

Sign for Regina. We just skirted the city, so I only got some not-so-good pictures driving past it.

Sign entering Saskatoon. I really liked driving through there. I thought it looked quite nice.

Driving through Saskatoon.

Lloydminster is partly in Saskatchewan, partly in Alberta. It's Canada's only border city. Those two big red things poking up in the middle of the picture marks the border of the provinces. You can't tell really well, but the little green sign in the second picture says, "Alberta Saskatchewan Border".

FO alert! FO alert!
Finished Broadripple socks for my friend. Started in Nova Scotia, finished in Alberta. Knit with Patons Kroy in Krazy Stripes. No mods to the pattern except I used a 3mm needles instead of 3.25mm. My August socks for SAM4 and pair 14 for the 52PP. The stripes almost match perfectly. The only place you really notice it is in the toes.

That's the Fort McMurray Petro Pass in the background.

Looking forward to Part Three of the Road Trip! It will be Alberta, including our off-loading in Fort McMurray today. I'm really anxious to transfer the rest of my pictures. If you thought the pictures of the oversize load from last post was big, wait til you see the next one! Man! And I do believe the West Edmonton Mall will be a post all on its own. (Considering I took 62 pictures of it, and we only covered probably 2/3 of it. Too big, you really need a weekend at least if you want to cover all the amusement stuff and not just shop.) I also finished a scarf for my MIL for Christmas, but I don't have a picture of that yet.
I hit my best friend's place tomorrow. Hubby was up at 5am, and they were late off-loading us so we didn't get to Edmonton til almost 8pm. Her place is still like 3.5 hours away, so we decided to stay at the same place we stayed on the weekend. They are totally full, so we're kinda in the road a bit, right across from the fuel pumps, so I doubt I'll get much sleep tonight.
Happy knitting!

Saskatoon is beautiful -- I used to live north of there, and loved to go visit. The socks look great! (WEM is overwhelming -- NEVER go Xmas shopping there -- the crowds are unreal! LOL!)
I am really enjoying the pics of your trip. Looks like you are seeing all sorts of places and neat things. West Edmonton Mall is a place I have never been, but I do understand that it is amazing and way too big to do in one day!
Have a fun time with your friend!
The pics are great. And the socks came out beautiful. Can't wait to see more pics. Hope you have lots of fun.
