PEI Trip Part 4 of 4

So Sunday morning we hit for home. I wanted to make sure we were gone by noonish so we'd be home around suppertime or shortly after. On the way Hubs took us past the McCain plant where he goes to on a fairly regular basis. More French fries! (Among other things.)

Then we stopped at the information centre again where we picked up some t-shirts and made a stop at The Sweet Factory for some candy.

Then we paid the fee to leave the Island, and we were headed for home.

Bridge Patrol, lol!

Back to New Brunswick...

Then little ol' Nova Scotia!

Of course, playing mini golf three times in PEI wasn't enough. The boys had to stop back at Mastadon Ridge for a fourth round of mini golf.

We got the girls around 6pm or shortly after. They were soooooooo excited to be going home! Talk about hyper when we picked them up. It was a very hard job getting their collars and leashes on. They didn't want to stay in the back seat, either. (I really need one of those cage things to keep them in the very back of the wagon.) Maggie ended up weaseling herself up on my lap.

And then it was all back to the same old, same old. Can't complain about our weather this summer. It rarely rains, it's been hot and sunny. I think this afternoon will be beach time. The kids go back to school on Friday. (Which I think it's so silly starting on Friday, then they're off for a long weekend because of Labour Day. Why not just go back on Tuesday after Labour Day?) The summer has flown by, as usual. I was looking around my yard yesterday thinking that it will soon be time to rake all those darned leaves again. Then we'll have cold weather, of which I'm not a fan. I guess within the next month or two it will be time to knit the boys some new mittens.

I do have a little baby sweater finished. It's blocking a bit, so I'll have pictures next post. And I'm trying to finish up a pair of socks as well.

Happy knitting!

Sounds like you had a great time! I haven't been to the Island in several years. I hate the fact that the tolls are so expensive, but that's not avoidable...unless you don't go across, lol.

Sounds like you all had a good trip ! I had no idea the tolls were that expensive , the bridge wasn't there when we took the boys on a camping trip there years ago . But then again the ferry wasn't that cheap either ...

Love the photo of the girls , too funny ! I didn't see the summer either . Here the kids were back to school yesterday . We're right in the middle of a heatwave so you can imagine how happy the students and teachers were to be in the classroom .

The baby sweater is so sweet , nice work !
