Finally

Well, I guess this post has to be centred cuz if I try to change it, it messes up my pictures.  I don't care for the new Blogger.

Anyhoo, late last week I finally gifted Heddy's W's gift.  I started it way back on January 31, but I didn't get it finished til May 17.  I had the back done right away, then I got slack.  It's size 4, and W just turned 2, so he's got a ways to grow into it (and that's also why I wasn't in a super rush).  It's kind of dress-like right now on him, but he's only going to get bigger, not smaller!  The pattern is Pembroke, the yarn is Patons Classic Wool in natural mix.  I followed the pattern to the letter.  I toyed with the idea of mirroring the cables, but I figured I'd forget along the way and mess it up.  Ravelry details here.

Maggie jumped up on my lap the other night and sat on my knitting.  When I picked it up a little later I notice she snapped one of my 2.5mm bamboo dpns.  Luckily I use four when I knit socks, and the package had five.  I need a new set, but everywhere I've been they're out of this size dpn.  Mine are getting pretty bent, and now I have no spare.

My last FO to show is the final pair (for now til I rebuild the sock yarn leftovers stash) of ankle socks for my friend, M.  This pair was started on April 6 and finished on May 20.  Basic 60st vanilla socks with a little twist -- I did 2x2 rib with a mock cable pattern, but you can't see it very well with this yarn.  Should have used a solid yarn, but I just wanted to do something different.  The light blue is Invicta, the darker blue and multi is Strickgarn Sokken Effekt.  Ravelry details here.

Since the school year is almost over I've started some gifts for the teachers for year end.  I also have to be better with my next baby gift -- Marti welcomed her big little bundle of joy the other day.  It's nearly half finished.  And I've got another non-knitting friend who is due with her first baby (another boy! no pink, frilly knitting for me) on June 25.

Happy knitting!

So cute - my cousin is expecting baby boy, due in October and I think a vest might be just the project!
