Welcome to the 40 Club

First off I have to start this post by welcoming my Hubs to the 40 Club -- today is his birthday, and he kisses the 30s goodbye.

Hard to believe summer is almost half over already.  Soon time to buy schools supplies and new school clothes. My BFF was here for three weeks with her three kids.  She was supposed to stay another week, but she ended up leaving last week.  The kids had swimming lessons the first two weeks of July, I signed them up for the first two weeks of August as well.  The Littlest One has summer soccer, that's 3-4 practices a week plus a game each week.  There are only three weeks left for games, they play 6 home games and 6 away games.  The Oldest One has band gigs once a week.  Busy, busy, busy.  I did finish one pair of socks, knit mostly at soccer and band gigs.  I made these once before but gave them away for a school Easter raffle draw, so I made myself another pair.

Easter Egg Socks
Patons Kroy in lavender jacquard
ladies size 8
2.5mm needles
60st vanilla socks, heel over 30sts, toe to 20sts
started July 2
finished July 20

We haven't had a lot of rain here this summer, we've actually got a province-wide fire ban right now.  It rained the other day and is supposed to rain tomorrow, so hopefully the ban will be lifted soon.  The kids want a weenie roast, but at this point in time it isn't allowed.  A few years back when we still had a camper it always sucked when there was a fire ban, therefore no flame-charred marshmallows.

Happy knitting!

We've had a crazy-dry summer too - but just got two good days of rain. They lifted our ban today - hopefully yours will be too - every kid needs at least one good weenie roast in the summer!

We haven't had rain all Summer and are finally having it today! Everytime they say we are going to get it, it goes South of us. We haven't had a ban yet but our grass is burnt to a crisp!!

It is finally raining here today! We haven't had any all Summer. And when I say all Summer, I mean it. Everytime they say we are going to get it, it goes South of us! Our lawn is burnt to a crisp. My grandson says it is "Pinchy" on his barefeet and we can't even go barefoot on the grass or sit on a blanke, that's how dry it is!!
