Ribbed

I finished a pair of socks for my BF for her birthday later this month. They are 3x1 rib over 64sts in Austerman Step on 2.5mm needles. Started July 24, finished August 3. Ravelry details here. One toe has a bit more white than the other, but it's close enough! I started another pair for her today. I want to send her two pairs of socks and a market bag.

Took the kids to two beaches today after work. The first one we went to is really good for moon snail shells -- well, normally. Today we only found a few. (Forgot to take pictures, they need to be washed up yet.) We didn't stay here too long. It's a good beach for clamming and collecting big shells (usually). It's the beach where I had the incident last year, too.

It was low tide. See all this that looks like little rocks?

It's oodles and oodles of winkles. They're everywhere close to the water's edge and in the shallow water, all heading back to sea, slowly. I'm sure the tide comes in and covers most of them before they actually make it anywhere at the rate they move. These guys may look a little blurry cuz they were under water.

I'm off for the next five days. This weekend is looking good, so we'll be going camping. Haven't done a lot of that this year. Good thing we changed to a campground that is like 1/3 almost of the cost of the other one! I'd hate to be paying a bunch of money and not getting my money's worth.

Happy knitting!

Those beach shots are making me jealous. My grandparents had a summer home in Bridgewater when I was child. I remember some great summer holidays, clamming.
