Dusting

We got a light dusting a snow last night, just enough to say it covered the ground - mostly - and made the roads messy.  The dogs enjoyed it, but there really wasn't enough to dig and play in.  It won't last long, it's supposed to be warmer out on Sunday and rain on Monday.

I also got a new toy.  It was on sale half price about a month ago, and I've been waiting for it to be on sale again.  Last week it was in the flyers for half price again, so it was mine!

It has 14 built in programs, you can adjust it yourself, it can take preprogrammed SD cards and came with one, an 8 week weight loss program, plus you can go on-line and buy other ones.  It's soooooo quiet, I love it.  You can also hook up an MP3 player or phone and play music through the speakers in the console.

Finished up a pair of socks but will save those for another post.  Working on a couple of Christmas projects next.  Running out of time, but they should be fairly quick!

Happy knitting!

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

Many recipes on the net, all basically the same.  Here's a good one.  I don't really bake or make candies for Christmas, I've got a sweet tooth, and if they're here, I'll eat them.  But I do make a couple of batches of this stuff (I use milk chocolate chips.  Or white & milk chocolate chips.  Not a huge dark chocolate fan.)  I give some of it away, too.  It's highly addictive, that's for sure.  If you like Skor bars you'll love this stuff, tastes a lot like them.

I did finish up a hat awhile back.  It goes in the winter accessories basket.  It's my old faithful Marsan Watchcap with 10 added rows to the length.  Started October 19, finished November 10.  The yarn is Kertzer Northern Worsted in black jack tweed.  Details here.

Plunking away at a hat and some socks right now.  Not planning on giving anything bigger than hats and socks for Christmas gifts, and only to one or two people probably.  My FO list for 2012 is not going to be very long.  I don't know what happened to all my knitting time.  Oh, wait - work, housework, hockey, music, air cadets.... I can't say I've got a lot of free time!  And of all the arenas that the Littlest One plays in ours is the only one that is heated (we're SO spoiled, lol).  So there's no way I can knit at away games, it's way too cold.  Some of them even with hand knit wool socks and fuzzy lined winter boots still make my feet feel like they've got frostbite!

Happy knitting!

Rudy Got Sole

Kertzer On Your Toes 4ply in blue heather
knit on 2.5mm needles
started October 6, finished November 4
Ravelry details here.

I knit these for the Littlest One.  (He is nine but has the same size foot as me!)  Knitting sure seems to go slow lately.  I was looking at my projects page, and there aren`t a whole lot of FOs this year.  I have also seemed to inadvertently done quite well at just knitting from stash.  I have only purchased yarn twice this year -- once for this little vest, and for these bags.  The rest seems to have all been from stash, and I have not bought yarn to hoard, either.  What a difference not working in a yarn shop makes, lol.  (Well, I also did have to buy a skein from a fellow knitter to finish these socks cuz I ran out, which I in turn used the leftovers to make the socks pictured above!)  I may have to pick up a bit of sock yarn if I intend to knit a couple of pairs of man socks for Christmas gifts.  I have a lot of sock yarn, but nothing really very manly.

Happy knitting!
