More Socks!

Three posts in less than a week?  I must have fallen and hit my head.

I finished up a couple of pairs of socks.  First up are a pair of 60 stitch vanilla socks, heel over 30sts, toe to 20sts, 2.5mm needles.  The yarn was a new yarn to me, Lion Brand Sock Ease Prints in sour ball.  It's nice, reminds me of Patons Kroy.  Good thing I like it, I bought four other colors, lol.  Ravelry details here.

Next up are a pair for the Christmas gifts box, another vanilla pair but 64 stitches, heel over 32sts, toe to 24sts, 2.5mm needles.  The yarn is Patons Kroy Ragg Shades in green ragg stripes, of which you've seen twice before.  Details on this pair here.

AC/DC Concert

The highlight of the summer was probably taking the boys to see AC/DC on Labour Day weekend at Magnetic Hill, NB.  The boys have only ever been to two real concerts, one on July 1, 2011, that included several bands, but the highlight for us was The Trews. (One of my favorite bands, I've seen them six times including twice this past July when they played at my friend's bar.)  We also took them to The Trews acoustic concert at our local Astor Theatre a few years ago.

First opening act, Vintage Trouble.  They were really good, I enjoyed them.

Next act was Big Sugar.  I knew a couple of their songs, but to be honest I found them very boring.  They sounded good, but I found they didn't do anything to hype the crowd up at all, unlike the previous act. No crowd interaction.  (Don't hate me, Marti, I know they are one of your faves!)

These guys might be up in age, but they put on one helluva a show.  I have been to many concerts, mostly rock, and a couple of country.  I've seen the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Kiss, Bon Jovi, ZZ Top, Def Leppard, Reba McIntyre, Clint Black, Vince Gill, Travis Tritt, The Cult, April Wine, Alice Cooper (twice), Great White, Meatloaf, Joan Jett, Extreme, Sloan, etc... even Kanye West (he opened for the Stones, only reason, not really a fan, no offense to anyone).  And there were many more opening acts for some of these shows, a lot of them I can't even remember who they were, lol.  But this show, I can honestly say, was the BEST of all of them.

Angus Young kick ass guitar solo that ended in a flurry of confetti.

I took several video clips, but they are too big to load to Blogger.  I got the opening, which was awesome, and the ending which was quite explosive.  They're on my Facebook for anyone who is on my list.

Catch Up!

Long time, no post!  Time to catch up.

First up are a couple of pairs of ankle socks. Both are 60 stitch vanilla socks, heel over 30sts, toe to 20sts, knit on 2.5mm needles, the yarn is Garnstudio Drops Fabel.  Ravelry details here and here.

There's a pair of Hederas knit with Herrschners Solid Sock in a burgundy shade, details here.

And a mini me pair, same pattern and yarn, knit as a Christmas gift for someone.  (Yes! I have started some Christmas knitting.  On the ball this year - for now.)  Details here.

Two Ilene Bags, both for the Christmas gift box, knit with Bernat Handicrafter in potpourri ombre.  Details here.

Sock Showdown 09, the yarn is Fleece Artist Merino, really soft, love the color.  The pattern was kicking my butt til I slowed down and actually READ it to see that there were TWO charts to follow.  All was well once I paid attention to what I was doing.  Details here.

I was asked by a friend to do some hats for one of her crafts.  She's making snowmen out of a 4L pickle jar and a rose bowl head.  She is a very basic knitter, she did the garter stitch scarves.  She bought Red Heart Super Saver, and I think the odd hat is Canadiana, and I made her 13 hats.  The pattern is Classic Cuffed Hat in the 0-3 month size.  Details here.

Cute little fellas!  Some people are so crafty. :)

Got another pair of socks finished but not washed, blocked, and photographed.  Got another pair on the needles, and I've got some other sock and non-sock ideas for Christmas gifts as well.  I don't knit a lot of stuff for Christmas gifts, but there are a handful of people who I know appreciate and use what I make them, so I don't mind knitting for them.  The others are off my list!!

Happy knitting!
