Trick or treating...
And lots of loot!First off in this post I'll catch up on a couple of things I don't think I ever posted. First was from early in the month, the Oldest One (navy jacket, playing the trumpet) marched in his first parade with the band. This was the Fire Prevention Parade.
I caved to peer pressure and bought some sock yarn cuz I saw Redknitz made a pair, and I wanted a pair, too. Plain old 60st vanilla socks, heel over 30sts, toe to 20sts. I used 2.5mm needles, the yarn is Patons Kroy in brown rose marl, started October 15, finished the 24th, eye of partridge heel with 3 garter stitches on either side. Ravelry details here.

And lastly, this is the view I usually get now when I'm on the computer in the kitchen. The desk has become Nala's favorite spot to lay, and of course Pumba has to mooch in cuz she might get attention that he needs. She usually lays down, though, so I can see, after she's gotten head and chin scratches. They're going to be upset after Christmas when I get my new desk. The one I spied that I like is an armoir desk, so the doors will be shut so no one sees all my bookwork disaster area.I whipped up a pair of vanilla socks for the Oldest One. These are standard old 60 stitch vanillas on 2.75mm needles, heel over 30sts, toe to 20sts. I did an eye of partridge heel with three garter stitches on either side, I find it gives a neater gusset pick up. The yarn is Patons Kroy FX in copper colors. Ravelry details here.
I didn't notice at first, but I had a visitor land on the socks while I had them on the ground taking pictures. He is close to the same color as the socks, maybe that's what attracted him, lol. He stayed for probably more than half a minute, but it was windy, and a leaf hit him, and he flew away....buy sock yarn, that is. I have enough sock yarn to knit probably 40 pairs of socks or so, and I really don't need any more. However, when I saw these socks in one of the new Kroy colorways I knew I had to have it. I had seen this yarn in the store that now sells yarn in town, and I thought it was pretty, but it wasn't til I saw it knit up that I knew I needed a pair.

I tried a new hat pattern after seeing the one that Nova Knitter made. I usually make Marsan Watchcaps (and to be honest they are still my preference). This one isn't too bad, though, and will be a nice change when I've made too many of the other ones. These three were all made with Kertzer Northern Accent in smokey grey, infinity, and aran fleck. The first one is for the Oldest One's homeroom teacher for Christmas (first time one of the boys has had a man for homeroom teacher), the blue one is for step-FIL for Christmas, and the other one is for our hat drawer at home. Ravelry details here. (And I did them a little differently. Changes on my Ravelry project page.)

So last Monday we officially got the New Girl, and she went to work. Here's old Petie being dropped off at the garage, dirt lump that she was, on trade in.
I took some pictures of the inside before she gets all dirty, lol. Storage compartments in the bunk area. These are on both sides.
