There were pumpkins...
...y'know, when it's just like, "Get this day over with!" There is no knitting content here, and it's kind of a rant/whine thing, so you may want to skip it.
I have warm feet again. I set all my projects aside for a couple of days while I made myself a new pair of felted slippers. I knit the first one Thursday night while watching my tv shows, and I knit the other one Friday night while watching tv as well. I used two skeins of Patons Classic Wool in one of the new colors, water chestnut. I don't usually do pink, but I wanted a light color cuz of the dog and cat fur. (I vacuum every day, sometimes twice a day, but still, the darned fur is everywhere.) Ravelry details here.
It's a sad day at the store today. Our "mascot" and the owners' Golden Retriever, Annie, passed away this morning. She would have been 11 in the spring. She was always at the store, every day, til a few years ago. (She came out front and laid on the floor behind a good customer of ours. The customer didn't know she was there and fell backwards over her. She didn't want them to not bring Annie any more, but they thought it was better to be safe than sorry. That customer didn't get hurt, but someone else may not have been so lucky.) We had a lot of people who used to come in specifically to see Annie. She was a good girl and will be missed. She was a terrible mooch come lunchtime! I feel bad for K&W, the owners. It was 11 years ago on the 13th that their daughter passed away, now two days later their dog dies. Not a good week for them.
I was at work today, and Hubs was home. He called at one o'clock to see why there was a small sub in the fridge. I forgot to put it in the Littlest One's lunchbox! I sent the poor kid to school with just his snacks and no real lunch. I called the school right away and said Hubs could take it up if the Littlest One needed it. She said she'd find out and call me back if he needed the sub. Apparently he didn't, she didn't call back. I guess they gave him noodles of some sort for his lunch. Whoops! Last year I forgot once to send the Oldest One with his lunch money. The teacher gave him money, so I just had to pay her back the next day.
